Coleford Family DoctorsDue to the significant increased demands on the GP surgery from the Covid-19 pandemic and taking into account government advice to protect the most vulnerable patients we are suspending all routine appointments for the foreseeable future. In an emergency please call 999. If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or have questions related to this then please refer to online information.
For urgent clinical problems please telephone the surgery. We are operating a daily telephone triage system for patients to talk to a doctor or a nurse. The doctor or nurse will then decide if you need to be seen face to face via a mobile device or in person. Please DO NOT WALK NOT THE SURGERY unless a doctor or nurse has asked you to do so at a specific time.
For less urgent advice or matters please try not phone the surgery as we need to keep phone lines as free as possible for those in most need. Please use the request forms available on the practice website and we will respond to your requests online as soon as possible.
For prescriptions we would like as much as possible to be requested online however there is a repeat prescription request box to the right of the entrance door at the surgery if you wish to bring these in person. Patients who qualify to receive medication from our pharmacy may still come to collect prescriptions but please do not attend if you have symptoms of Covid-19.
We will do our best to support you in the coming weeks and we are sorry for the inconvenience that these changes may cause. We ask that you kindly respect our staff who are doing a very difficult job.
Medicines
Please note that we are not issuing medicines in advance of their due date as this might create a shortage or reduce the availability of medicines. There are not currently any concerns nationally about the supply, or future availability, of medicines.
If you request prescription items early, we will send a prescription electronically to your nominated pharmacy, BUT this will be dated to be available when your next medication is due. It will not be available straight away.
We trust that you understand the need to avoid stockpiling medicines which will cause problems for everyone.
