Important Appointment Information Update

Due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic we are changing the way we work to support our patients and to keep staff and patients safe. We are trying to work remotely where possible to deliver our normal high quality care for you and your family. By using the internet or telephone we can reduce the number of people in the waiting room so that those patients we need to see face to face can be seen safely. Please DO NOT WALK into the surgery unless you have been asked to by a doctor or a nurse.

We are introducing EConsult – a convenient way to contact our doctors 24/7 about a clinical problem (new or existing) or to request administrative support such as medical certificates or test results. You can also get trusted NHS advice on conditions or submit reviews such as blood pressure readings without an appointment. If you submit an EConsult form you will get a response by the end of the next working day. This response could be a telephone call, email/text message, a prescription or a face to face or video consultation can be organized.

For urgent clinical problems and those patients without internet access please telephone the surgery as usual. A receptionist will ask you some questions and pass the information onto the GPs and Nurses for you.

For prescriptions we would like as much as possible to be requested online however there is a repeat prescription request box to the right of the entrance door at the surgery if you wish to bring these in person. Patients who qualify to receive medication from our pharmacy may still come to collect prescriptions but please do not attend if you have symptoms of Covid-19.


Please note that we are not issuing medicines in advance of their due date as this might create a shortage or reduce the availability of medicines. There are not currently any concerns nationally about the supply, or future availability, of medicines.

If you request prescription items early, we will send a prescription electronically to your nominated pharmacy, BUT this will be dated to be available when your next medication is due. It will not be available straight away.

We trust that you understand the need to avoid stockpiling medicines which will cause problems for everyone.
